Pookkode Lake

Pookode Lake is the highest freshwater lake in Kerala. This lake is located at Pookode in Wayanad district. After traveling about 15 km from Kalpetta, you can reach Pookod lake. Tickets are priced at Rs 30 for adults and Rs 20 for children. Entry timings are from 9 am to 6 pm. The exhibition hall containing the unique items of Wayanad can be seen immediately after the entrance. A children's park can be seen on its right side. A beautiful garden can be seen on the left side of the park. If you proceed from there, you will find the aquarium under the supervision of the Kerala Fisheries Department. Boating in the lake is the main attraction here. Located on an area of 13 acres, there is a cycle ride around the lake on a tiled path around the lake. The charge is Rs 60 for 30 minutes.

The charge is Rs 200 for a two person pedal boat, Rs 350 for a 4 person pedal boat and Rs 700 for a 7 person normal boat. Adjacent to the aquarium is a sculpture of a mermaid and a conch. The aquarium here is very beautiful with colorful fishes. Another attraction here is the market fair for Wayanad products. We can buy the unique products of Wayanad before coming back from the lake
