Kurumbalakotta

Kurumbalakotta is a hill located 20 km west of Kalpetta in Wayanad district. The mountain is 991 meters above sea level. The misty hills and valleys surrounding the hill provide a beautiful environment for the trekkers. It is located in the center of Wayanad, part of the Deccan Plateau and the confluence of the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats. There is a jeep service from the bottom and the charge is 600 rupees to go to the top and back. 8 people can go in a jeep. Or you can use your own vehicle. The best time to visit here is around 6 pm. From Mananthavadi, one can reach Kurumbalakotta after traveling about 16 km. The minimum distance from Kalpetta is 20 km. This hill is located in Kottathara Panchayat of Vaithiri Taluk Wayanad District. It is a small town near Venniyode.

 

Kurumbalakotta view point can be reached from the main road by traveling about two and a half kilometers in the snow in the morning. Currently, there is no entry ticket here. Where people come to see the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening, but most people come in the morning. When you reach the top, two view points are important, the one on the left side to see the sunrise and the one near the Kurishumala on the right side.
